My Chosen Issue

I have chosen Sexual Identities in Canada for my key issue.  This is an issue because LGBTQ (homosexual) persons are not getting the same rights as heterosexual (straight) people.  Heterosexual people are denied the right to marry whoever they want whenever they want unless they live in certain places.  The government believes that just because they aren't marrying someone from the opposite sex, that their marriage is improper and should not be legal.  What ever happened to love being love?  Why are those people forced to hide who they are in the fear of being judged or being frowned upon  by those who don't have the same beliefs as them?  It doesn't matter who it is, LOVE IS LOVE!

  1. I agree with you 100%. Love is love and it shouldn't be illegal to be who you are. I find it sad that LGBTQ people can't love who they want. Did you know that in the Bahamas if you are gay you can and will be shot in the middle of the day and no one will do anything about it! My mom married someone from the Bahamas and they told us that in 2013 (when they were visiting the Bahamas) a girl was raped and killed just because she was a Lesbian. Her own father even said "She deserved it" No one was sent to jail, no one was punished. It was so cruel!

  2. nikita, some of the things that go on in the world amaze me. This is 2015 why can't people just realize that just because they don't love someone of the same sex, or that they weren't born into the body that isnt theres. Why aren't more things being done to support lgbtq people?
